Awayan ES Receives New Building

AWAYAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RECEIVES NEW SCHOOL BUILDING

Lagawe, Ifugao – The Megawide Construction Corporation turned over two units 2 storey – 2 classroom buildings to the Department of Education, Ifugao Division in a simple turn-over ceremony held on October 13 at Awayan Elementary School Main, Aguinaldo. It was attended by the barangay officials of Awayan, PTCA officers, Mayor Clemente S. Talusig and Vice Mayor Gaspar B. Chilagan of Aguinaldo with some of their SB members, Governor Denis B. Habawel, Schools Division Superintendent Sally B. Ullalim, DepEd Engineer Lucian B. Daday and the school heads and their teachers in both Awayan Elementary School Main and Annex.

The said buildings are under the Public – Private Partnership (PPP) Batch 2 Program of the Department of Education where Awayan Elementary School Main and Annex were allotted one building each.

According to Eng’r Daday, the two buildings conformed to the DepEd complete classroom building standards which measures 7m X 9m with toilets, blackboards and chairs.

In his address to the community, Mayor Talusig called on the people to be responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and challenged the pupils to do their best in their studies.

The Governor, in his speech, recognized the efforts of SDS Ullalim in pushing DepEd-Ifugao to the top both in academics and sports. He said that DepEd and the PLGU should work hard enough and partner close enough to accomplished things effectively and efficiently. He also observed that what is needed in the school is a gymnasium which he believes will benefit not only the school children but the community as a whole and pledged that funding be included in the PLGU budget.

On her part, SDS Ullalim encouraged the community to treasure the blessings and challenged them to have a collective responsibility in the maintenance of the buildings. – racquel tundagui-liwayan, DIO Ifugao
